Calcium
Chloride Recovery System
Mr. Vijay Mundle and his team has developed a system for recovery of Calcium
Chloride from waste stream. The final product will be in flake form (Calcium
Chloride Dehydrate ) having 78 - 80% purity. It can be further dried to get
Calcium Chloride Anhydrous having purity level of 94%. Calcium Chloride
being highly soluble in water and it has property of boiling point rise
(BPR) at different concentration levels. This property of BPR is being used
to produce flakes from liquid at 180 Deg. temperature. The main advantage of
this system is physical form of product ( non dusty ) and the cost of
operation is far less as compared to conventional spray drying systems. The
various stages involved in this process are as follows.
- Evaporation of weak liquid normally from 35% solids to 60% level in
multiple effect rising film evaporator.
- Finisher evaporator to have solid concentration upto 70 72%.
- Flaking operation.
- Flake breaking to uniform size.
- Louvre dryer for drying operation.
- Tubular cooler for cooling.
- Sifter for separation of fine particles.
